Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and songwriter. Her family was home-schooled by her mother, and her father, in USA. She was subjected to racial taunts and made to feel unwanted. It was in her ninth year that she started to feel more confident after being highly praised at an audition. This experience did not just help to boost her confidence, but also changed her outlook on the future. When she was 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 she made her debut at the Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. But her biggest break came when she appeared in the part of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway performance of Spamalot winning not just her the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC her role was given greater recognition. A well-known performer, she has also recorded an album and a musical. She is an activist who is a tireless advocate in the cause of LGBT equality.
