Pickler was born Kellie dawn Pickler 28 June 1986. She had a turbulent childhood. As a young girl, her mother ran away to protect her from an abusive family. Her return to Pickler's life in 1995 and took custody of her. This did not go very well. At the age of 12, Pickler aged twelve, the court sent her to her grandparents, which raised her to adulthood. Pickler was required to care of her kids without parents. In absence of both parents Pickler had no time to attend school. Instead she started learning how to look after her family earlier in time. Pickler was a member of the middle and high school's cheerleading team. North Stanly High School, where she graduated in 2004, was her alma mater. Pickler has also attempted her hand as a model.
