Hayley Orrantia is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Many people recognize her character Erica Goldberg in the comedy TV series 'The Goldbergs'. But, she is mostly as a musician. Since she was 9 years of age, she began dabbling into music. By the time she turned 12 the world of music had become important enough to pursue a career in music. When she was 13, she started creating songs. The first time she recorded an album at 14 years old. From that moment on, she has never been back. Orrantia was born in the USA but has Hispanic heritage. Although she never lived or spoke Spanish in Mexico She is strongly proud of her Hispanic culture. In order to maintain the tradition, she's studied Spanish and has written songs using the language. One such song is "Hasta Verte," which she composed in Spanish. Orrantia auditioned for The X Factor in 2011. Orrantia took home the very first season of The X Factor following the submission of an YouTube recording of her audition. She was awarded the four "yes" votes by the judge on the live stage in Seattle. She was originally a solo performer, but after "Hollywood Week" the three female performers were put in groups to take part in the auditions. Live shows were staged in the fifth week.
